I’m an archaeologist based in Tofino, BC. I’ve spent 20+ years doing fieldwork across British Columbia — logging roads, pipeline corridors, bridge and road construction, mine sites, LNG projects — documenting and protecting archaeological sites before development disturbs them.
I run Green Spring Research, an archaeological consulting firm that works with First Nations communities and major industry clients on heritage assessments under BC’s Heritage Conservation Act. Most of my field season is spent driving between hotel rooms and riverbanks, mountainsides, and cutblocks, recording what’s there before the work starts.
In the off-season, I’m here on the west coast, building things.
Momhak is a project born from my own recovery. I got sober and rebuilt my life using four practices that humans have relied on forever: breathwork, cold exposure, movement, and mind training. I write and create content about those practices — not as a guru, but as someone who uses them every day.
Green Gandalf is where I write fiction — speculative stories about where technology is taking us and what it means to be human when the rules change.
When I’m not working, I’m usually surfing, storm watching, or walking the trails around Tofino with a coffee.
