Pat McCashin
Archaeologist. Writer. Tofino Local.
I live on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I spend my days between archaeological field sites, cold ocean water, and building things that didn’t exist yesterday. This is where I write about all of it.
🌊 Tofino Like a Local
I’m writing the guide I wish existed when people ask me about visiting Tofino. Not the tourism board version — the real one. Where to eat, what to skip, when to come, and what nobody tells you about the west coast.
Coming soon — get on the list to be first.

About Pat
I’m an archaeologist and writer based in Tofino, BC. I’ve spent 20 years working on major infrastructure projects across British Columbia — pipelines, mines, highways — consulting with First Nations and documenting the cultural heritage of this province. I also run Green Spring Research, where I’m building AI tools for archaeological consulting. When I’m not in the field, I’m in the ocean, on a trail, or at a keyboard.
